Joyce is a native of Southington Ct.; there she began her training at the age of 6 at Mrs. Vicky’s dance studio. There she trained for tap, jazz, ballet, and lyrical. Joyce was on a competitive tap team (Jr. Vicketts) where she placed 1st and 2nd throughout New England competitions. As she got older her passion for dance grew. Joyce followed in the foot steps of her older sibling Debby Kennedy. Joyce began Cheerleading at Kennedy middle school and also took on gymnastics with American Gymnastics Center, where she continued her training for 6 years. Throughout her training she competed in many competitions (state’s and regional’s), where she was awarded over 30 medals and 12 trophies. During her training time with gymnastics she found a new love that was to choreograph routines for level 8 and 9 team members.
As a freshman in high school Joyce continued cheerleading and made the varsity team. She helped choreograph routines throughout her high school years and was awarded M.V.C. During her junior year she began training for dance at United Rhythms under the wing of Fernando Allers, who has inspired her in many ways. He opened the door to a new world for her and showed her the meaning of “together as one”.
