Lisa was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She has both cheered and danced for most of her life and loved every minute of it! Lisa has chosen to make dance a career path and plans to help expand the dance community in the west valley for both adults and children. One of her life goals as a dancer is to share the love, artistry, and creativity she has found in dance with children to help them stay on a positive and focused track in life.
Lisa attended Peoria High School where she was a member of the Varsity Spiritline. She faithfully took classes and performed as a part of the Peoria Dance Theatre under the tutelage of Kim Denson. There she fell in love with dance!
Lisa enrolled in the dance program at Glendale Community College to pursue a degree in dance. There, her studies included ballet, jazz, and modern dance. She has been a member of their resident dance company PHYSICAL GRAFFITI, under the direction of Lenna DeMarco. Lisa has had the opportunity to perform works by professional choreographers as well as create works herself. This spring Lisa will graduate with an AFA in dance from GCC. Next fall she plans to attend the Herberger College of Fine Arts at ASU for a Bachelors in dance education and choreography. Lisa has had the opportunity to perform in San Francisco California at ODC Dance Theater and take master classes at ODC Dance Commons. She has also had the chance to attend and perform in (American College Dance Festival) ACDF at UC Irvine in the spring of 2008. Through her school’s dance program she has gotten to work with various well known choreographers such as Meghan Bingle, Charles Torres, Brad Garner, Francis Goritsas, Jennifer Walker, and Teal Darkenwald. Lisa recently was awarded the Maricopa Community Colleges Choreography Competition award for first place in group performance with PHYSICAL GRAFFITI. She was also one of the first recipients of the Jayla Abrielle Snyder memorial scholarship in dance.
